The seventh- and eighth-grade students at Our Lady of Malibu School recently participated in the National Geographic Bee. The competition began with a question about the Mackinac Bridge in Michigan and ended with the city of Kabul in Afghanistan.

Cedric Halloran beat Teresa Contino in the final round and won first place in the bee. Contino, Francesca Gettings, Carli Peter, Tripp Principe and Gregory Vasquez were all runners-up. Halloran will take a qualifying written test that will be sent to the National Geographic Headquarters to determine if he is eligible to participate at the state level on April 4, 2014.
