The film “Ed & Vern’s Rock Store” was named Best Documentary this month at the Gone With The Film Festival in Fillmore.
The documentary is about the eatery located just outside of Malibu, famous for its biker clientele. Narrated by Peter Cullen, the film focuses on the history of the Rock Store and its owners. It also touches on the car culture of the 1950s, roadside pit stops, the evolution of the Mulholland Highway and forest fires. It includes interviews with Jay Leno, Malibu resident Chad McQueen and other locals.
