Valor and her handler Victoria are the newest faces at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Malibu/Lost Hills station is welcoming its smallest, and perhaps cutest, volunteer: a miniature therapy horse named Valor.

Valor and her handler, Victoria Nodiff-Netanel, are currently being trained as volunteers. They are part of the nonprofit group, Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses. Valor lives in Malibu and is trained specifically as a therapy horse for law enforcement. She’s named after fallen police officer Kenneth Tietjen, who died in the Sept. 11 attacks.

“Valor will also be an integral part of local reading programs and our community outreach events,” the department announced. “With all of Valor’s and Victoria’s experience, they will be well prepared to serve the Malibu/Lost Hills community.”
