The California Wildlife Conservation Board has made progress on building a wildlife crossing at Liberty Canyon Road, where mountain lions have been killed trying to cross the 101 Freeway.

Former California Senator Fran Pavley recently shared news about the project, stating that Caltrans “removed or relocated freeway fences” with the help of a voter-approved grant. Native plants have been restored to the area.

Phase 2 of the project will be designed sometime this year.
