From left: Trish Burr, Maureen Solheim, Marjie Hollinrake and Jenny Young were introduced on Oct. 6 as new members at the Malibu chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution's first fall meeting and luncheon. Regent Patti Scroggins introduced them and some prospect new members at the event, which took place at Malibu Methodist Church. The business meeting was followed by the day's speaker, D.T. Parker, who did a lecture in the persona of President James Madison. He spoke about the Madison era, covering many of the historical and interesting events of the time.
Celebrating their marriage Oct. 13 at the La Costa Beach Club were Anthony York and his bride Andrea Harvey, along with her daughter Lana Lacey. Dr. James Wilburn of Pepperdine University officiated the ceremony.
Raised in Malibu, York is the son of The Malibu Times publishers Karen and Arnold York. Anthony York is the editor of Capitol Weekly in Sacramento, which is also published by his parents. Andrea Harvey is a legislative advocate for the Faculty Association of California Community Colleges.
