Dr. Francine Vogler, a residency-trained physician in emergency medicine, will speak at the Malibu Gets Healthy event at the Civic Center during the Malibu Farmers Market on Oct. 3. The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. Vogler is scheduled to speak at 12 p.m.
Vogler, a Malibu resident, has served as full-time, on-site medical director of Van Nuys-based AIRescue International, which she founded. She was deployed to Ground Zero on Sept. 11, 2001 to participate in the rescue effort for the first 10 days following the terrorist attacks. She recently joined the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s chief and other government officials to speak in support of medical and other benefits for first responders who were injured or became chronically-ill as a result of their efforts.
Vogler’s talk will be on practical and life-saving steps individuals can take during emergency situations while travelling.
