The playground at Trancas Canyon Park was one of many accomplishments by former Parks and Recreation Director Bob Stallings. Stallings was the 2017 recipient of the Jake Kuredjian Citizenship Award.

Nearly four months after the Woolsey Fire first broke out, Trancas Canyon Park finally reopened to the Malibu community.

The park, which was closed indefinitely due to debris and damage, officially opened for use last Thursday, Feb. 21. The reopening also includes the dog park.

The playground, however, will remain closed “for some additional work,” per the City of Malibu. The statement from the city said the closure would last several days.
