Whether or not the Forge Lodge is ever built, one thing is absolutely clear! We need a traffic signal at the corner of PCH and Corral Canyon. Who among us in West Malibu, who drive past this corner every day, has never witnessed an accident or near-miss at that very dangerous intersection?
Whether it’s for a driver zooming up the coast at 60 mph who suddenly decides to stop for gas, confused visitors to Solstice Creek Park who aren’t sure how to negotiate a left onto PCH, or the classic summer tourist who suddenly sees a parking spot and decides to make a U-turn in the middle of PCH just east of Corral-we need a light. The hundreds of families in the canyon, not to mention the thousands of us to the west, would benefit as well from a more measured traffic flow, allowing all of us to make safer left turns on to PCH.
The issue was brought up at our recent homeowners meeting, and for what it’s worth, the Winding Way Homeowners Association unanimously supports a traffic signal at PCH and Corral Canyon.
