Trancas Power Line Down

Update: LA County fire authorities say multiple spot fires have broken out at Trancas Canyon Park due to downed power lines. A witness near the scene said the fires were “just a spark” and seem to be under control. More information coming soon.

A set of downed electrical wires forced the temporary closure of Trancas Canyon Road near Trancas Canyon Park on Wednesday morning, according to the city’s emergency services.

“Wires and a transformer down” caused the closure in the 6000 block of Trancas Canyon Road while fire and Edison crews respond to the scene.

The closure happened amid roaring Santa Ana winds and scorching hot weather — high fire conditions. A wind advisory has been in effect since Tuesday and will last at least through Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m.
