Safety first

The Corral Canyon Safety Committee would like to express our gratitude for everyone who has been involved in the support and implementation of the brand new signal light at the intersection of Corral Canyon and the PCH. We have spent years lobbying to have this light put in place, in order to enhance the safety of those residents and visitors who have to make the dangerous turn onto the PCH from Corral Canyon.

Contrary to what some people would have you believe, the signal light is a relief for those of us who have to make the left-hand turn onto the PCH. It is now much, much safer than having no signal light and this will become even more self-evident as the summer weekend traffic arrives. It is a pleasure to arrive at the bottom of the Corral Canyon Road, wait for the light to turn green, and then safely make a left-turn onto the PCH, without any stress or worry.

As the young adults who live in Corral gain their driving licenses, it is comforting to know that our children, and the children of other families who visit the park and trails, will have safe egress onto the PCH, whether during the daylight or night time hours. A heartfelt thank you to the City of Malibu, the County of Los Angeles and everyone else for helping improve the safety for our neighbors, friends and the visiting public.
