Just before the 2017 dual match arrives, Pepperdine finds itself ranked No. 3 as a team in the nation by the Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Oracle/ITA Tennis Women’s Division I National Rankings were released last Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 4, with Florida taking the top spot, North Carolina in second and Pepperdine trailing closely behind.

The Waves made their fourth-consecutive West Coast Conference tournament appearance and first NCAA Championship quarterfinals appearance since 1994 in the 2016 season, making it one of the program’s best. Along with earning regular season titles, Pepperdine went 24-3 overall and had a perfect 9-0 in the WCC competition. The team also went undefeated 10-0 at home, 8-1 on the road and 6-2 on neutral ground.

The Waves will make their first appearance of the year at UNLV’s Freeman Memorial tournament this week.
