Malibu resident Alex Colby, 16, competed in the Western Region Junior Ski Racing Championship in Squaw Valley on March 4-9. Colby placed first and second in two slalom races and third in a giant slalom race in the U18 class.
This is Colby’s ninth season on the Mammoth Mountain Ski Team. He is one of four skiers from the men’s team who qualified to participate in this race.
