Thomas Aylesworth died on Feb. 28 at age 34. Born on May 16, 1968, he grew up and lived in Malibu on and off since 1969. He lived in the Colony, Point Dume and Topanga, and attended Webster and Point Dume elementary schools and Malibu Park Junior High. In addition to having lived in Lake Tahoe, he traveled the world and also lived in such exotic locals as Maui and Cabo San Lucas.

His greatest love was cooking, specializing in seafood masterpieces. Reaching the top of his profession, he attained his lifelong goal of becoming head chef at both the Babalu and Ocean Ave. seafood restaurants in Santa Monica.

Aylesworth was also an athlete who lived life to the fullest. He played baseball in the Malibu Little League and Pony League. He also enjoyed basketball, football, tennis, skiing, tennis and fishing. He was an avid sports fan who followed his beloved Los Angeles Lakers and Dodgers with zeal and joy. As a weather enthusiast, he watched The Weather Channel for hours on end.

Thomas is survived by his parents Nancy Atchison-Aylesworth and John Aylesworth, his brothers Billy Aylesworth and John (Duke) Aylesworth, his sister Cynthia Aylesworth Heatley, and his nephew Robert.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, March 15, at 11 a.m. at Malibu Presbyterian Church, 3324 Malibu Canyon Road. A tribute to Thomas Aylesworth can be viewed online at www.aylesworth.us.
