The U.S. Coast Guard made three rescues within a matter of days off the Malibu coast, according to statements from the Coast Guard.
A four-year-old boy who was experiencing severe respiratory problems on Catalina Island on Friday just after midnight prompted the first rescue. The Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles-Long Beach Command Center responded to the call and transported the boy by helicopter to a local hospital.
Later Friday morning, a 45-year-old man required a helicopter rescue after suffering from seizures and peptic ulcers on Catalina Island. The local Coast Guard responded and brought the man to a hospital.
On Monday, the Coast Guard made a third air rescue after a 34-year-old crewmember on a fishing boat who was experiencing chest pains and dizziness was rescued from the boat off Santa Cruz Island at around 10:30 a.m. The man was brought to shore where he was given medical treatment.
