Malibu’s Community Assistance Resource Team (CART) hosted its third eye clinic, together with UCLA Stein Eye Institute, Mobile Eye Clinic. This year’s event included a dental clinic.
The clinics were free and open to Malibu’s homeless population, many of whom are in need of basic medical attention, including things like teeth cleanings and eyeglasses.
The eye clinic included an eye exam, tests for color vision, stereovision, alignment, acuity, eye health and a refraction test. Those in need of glasses were fit for a pair and will be able to pick them up in six to eight weeks’ time.
The hardworking CART team held the event at the Malibu Library.
