Singer and songwriter John Stewart died of a brain aneurysm on Jan. 19 in San Diego. The former Malibu resident was 68.
Stewart was a member of the Kingston Trio from 1961 to 1967, and he made 40 solo albums during his lifetime. Rolling Stone named his album, “California Bloodlines,” on its list of the 200 best of all time.
He also wrote several hit songs, including The Monkees’ “Daydream Believer.”
Stewart lived on Point Dume with his wife, Buffy, and son, Luke, during the 1980s.
