The following crimes were reported in Malibu between June 12-13

6/12 

PCH home invasion

-A home was burglarized while a family was on vacation. Two laptops, passports and birth certificates were stolen, totaling over $4,000. The burglary was discovered by a housekeeper who had cleaned the house the night before. Pry marks were noticed on the sliding glass door and the metal frame was bent. The residence was not equipped with surveillance.

Fast food

-A vehicle was burglarized, the driver window smashed and a Visa card was stolen in the early morning on Birdview Avenue. The card was then used for four different transactions with Metro PCS. Shortly after, the thief tried to use the card to purchase $32 of food and beverages at Jack in the Box, but the card was declined. Authorities estimated damages around $300. 

Birdview robbery

-A navigation system, a flashlight, and $30 in cash was stolen from a car near the scene where another car was burglarized earlier in the morning also on Birdview Avenue. The car showed no signs of forced entry and had been left unlocked overnight.

6/13 

Hikers hawked 

-Two vehicles were broken into during the middle of the day on Corral Canyon road. Damages to both vehicles included a smashed passenger window. Neither victim witnessed any suspicious people in the parking lot of the busy hiking area. One vehicle reported over $3,000 of stolen goods, including a Louis Vuitton purse, a Tori Burch clutch, and $1,000 in checks and cash. The other victim reported stolen watches, a gym bag with clothing and shoes, a suit case and miscellaneous jewelry totaling over $1,900.
