Emilia Buckley, a sixth-grade student at Malibu Middle School, raised $136 for the Kids in Need of Desks (KIND) organization. KIND gives money to businesses in Africa so they can build and place desks in schools where children are currently sitting in dirt.
Buckley asked Point Dume Marine Science School, the school she attended prior to Malibu Middle School, and its student council for help raising money. They voted on her program and helped raise the money Buckley donated to KIND.
