So …let’s try to figure this one out. The people who don’t want the Sanctuary City sign displayed are the same ones who turned Malibu into a sanctuary city. Huh? That’s like opening up a store, but not putting a business sign out in front.

I think the sign should be a permanent fixture right where it was. Why not? It reflects who Malibu is and isn’t that what we want people to know.

What are we afraid of and why are we hiding? We wear Dodgers t-shirts, Lakers jerseys, UCLA bruins hats, etc. to support our teams and our many other causes, so why not proudly display our sanctuary city (sign)… Or are we too ashamed? How about our own “Sanctuary City” t-shirts? We could raise money for the increase in liability premiums we’re all gonna be faced with once the insurance companies get wind of this crazy status of ours and the potential for criminal aliens lurking among us.

Interesting that in last week’s Times “Street Talk” segment, three out of four comments disapproved of the sanctuary city idea. I’m just surprised that the Times actually didn’t go all “fake news” on us by manipulating the results of the poll to reflect a unanimous (bleeding heart) biased.

Kudos to Mr York and his staff for keeping it real. But it seems many I’ve spoken with also agree that the sanctuary city sign be kept in its rightful place with the Malibu City sign so that everyone can see who and what we represent. Since when has Malibu ever been shy about that?

I hope to be ordering “Malibu — Official Sanctuary City” t-shirts for friends and family here, back East and other places when they become available. And I WILL wear it proudly.
