More than 45 golfers headed to the Los Robles Greens Golf Course to participate in the Malibu High (MHS) Shark Fund’s second Shark Fund Golf Classic on May 22.

A foursome made up of MHS golfers Quincy Allen and Chase Murrell, their coach Cindy McConnell, and MHS staff member Eric Martin won the tournament, finishing 10 under par, with a low net combined score of 58.

Participants fought to get a hole-in-one on the par three 16th hole to win a new BMW, offered by Rusnak BMW of Thousand Oaks, but no one succeeded in the challenge. The tournament was followed by a dinner and silent auction.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Shark Fund, a fundraising organization for Malibu Middle School and MHS that contributes to sports, the arts, computer technology, student and teacher enrichment and more.

“The teamwork, the generosity of the sponsors, the golfers and people at dinner enjoying the silent auction all made such a great feeling and even more fun than last year,” Event Chair David Mankoff said.
