Early this morning, Aug. 23, a very young deer (fawn) was obviously hit by a car, whose driver never stopped on Hume Road. It had a broken pelvis and legs. Two of the Cosentino girls stayed with it for two hours until the Agoura Animal Control Officer came and gave it a pain shot and drove it to their shelter. We and other neighbors had called the Wildlife Station on Piuma and Malibu Canyon Road, which is only 20 minutes away, but were told that they don’t take animals that size. My question is, don’t they handle mountain lions, coyotes, etc.?
But all aside, we want to thank the Cosentino girls, who were there from the beginning, long before any of us realized what had happened. We are so proud of you and a million thanks.
