MUSE School participates in Hour of Code by offering online tutorials on the basics of computer programming.

As part of Computer Science Week, MUSE School participated in the Hour of Code program with more than five million students worldwide. MUSE students from kindergarten through eighth grade participated in online tutorials that exposed them to the basics of computer programming. No prior experience was necessary to participate in the self-guided lessons.

The objective of the program was to demystify computer science while allowing students to have fun, collaborate and create. Computer programming helps students develop critical thinking, quantitative reasoning and creativity.

Head of School, Jeff King, said, “In keeping with our philosophy of nurturing passions and interests, this is a powerful and exciting opportunity for MUSE to both introduce students to coding, and to encourage those who have expressed an interest to go deeper in their exploration of programming.”
