Leslie Anne Collins MacNeil, known by friends and family as “Lee,” died Saturday from cancer. She was 53 years old.
Lee and John, her husband of 23 years, both originally from Boston, lived in Malibu their entire married life. They raised their daughter, Amanda, here while maintaining a summer home on Cape Cod.
MacNeil had a long career as a court reporter. She was an active member of Our Lady of Malibu Parish, helped with OLM School fundraisers and was a tireless supporter and longtime board member of Malibu’s Ballet Studio by the Sea.
MacNeil enjoyed the beach, sailing and reading. She was also a master at crossword puzzles she and a sports fan who cheered for the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots.
In addition to her husband and daughter, MacNeil is survived by her sister Maria, brother Michael, step-daughter Heather, son-in-law John and grandson Ryan Kelly.
Funeral services and burial took place earlier this week in Quincy, Mass.
A Malibu Memorial in her honor will be held at Our Lady of Malibu on Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. The church is located at 3625 Winter Canyon Road.
