The Malibu High School (MHS) and Malibu Middle School orchestras swept their division at the Music in the Parks competition at Disneyland on April 9.
The MHS Intro Orchestra, composed of sixth graders, placed second, while the MHS String Orchestra, composed of seventh and eighth graders, placed first and won the best overall orchestra award. Both ensembles received the highest possible judges’ ratings and were the two highest-scoring instrumental ensembles at any grade level.
