The third annual Best Buddies Mother’s Day brunch was held this weekend at a private estate in Malibu. Visitors gathered under blue skies to help raise awareness and funds for the Best Buddies nonprofit organization.
Best Buddies founder, chairman and CEO Anthony K. Shriver shared information on the organization and Alzheimer’s disease. He co-hosted the event with his sister, Best Buddies Global ambassador and founder of Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement, Maria Shriver
Actress Mini Driver had the honor of introducing this year’s Best Buddies Mother of the Year, Yanti Lugito.
Lugito explored all options to create a better life for her daughter, Catherine, who faces many physical challenges. Catherine earned a blue belt in tae kwon do, loves to work out in a gym, practices yoga regularly and is an accomplished artist. Lugito accredits Best Buddies as a place of refuge, changing Catherine’s life for the better.
