Pleased to note that our City Council is concerned about view protection, albeit unfortunately not of the ocean or mountains on behalf of impacted residents as it was directed to do in a city-wide referendum nearly four years ago. No, it is of themselves, on television and from the cheap seats in the municipal chambers.
Sad to note that while the council disdainfully declared no public funds would be expended enforcing a view protection ordinance for residents, it seems more than willing to pay for a questionable design to enhance the view of its self-aggrandizing proceedings. Perhaps instead of elevating the stage out of vanity, the Council should consider lowering it from view, out of shame.
