In a letter to the editor, Jim Jordan says I should get my facts straight about the Trancas shopping center expansion. The fact he fails to mention is that he is a paid consultant for the developers. In other words, he works for the investment group promoting the Trancas shopping center expansion.
I am an Emmy Award winning news reporter, anchor, former White House correspondent, and CNN bureau chief, and I know very well how to ask questions, gather facts, and take accurate notes. Information that I have presented to the community comes directly from public records, from Malibu city planners, and from L.A. County Waterworks engineers who all spoke on the record.
We can have differing opinions, but facts are facts. I believe Malibu residents should have all of the facts so they can make informed decisions. Residents should know that the Trancas shopping center would be taking more water at a time of water rationing and that the water district project necessary for the shopping center to expand is being paid for by all of us.
