Max Miller and Riley Smith, fourth-grade students at Point Dume Marine Science Elementary School, were honored earlier this month at a statewide awards ceremony at Loyola Marymount for gifted children hosted by The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY).
The students were invited to this ceremony based on their exceptional performance on a rigorous, above-grade-level test given to second- through eighth-grade talent search participants. Second- through sixth-graders took the SCAT, an above-level test scaled for younger students.
