Local students have been working hard to raise money for former Point Dume Marine Science School (PDMSS) principal and Malibu High School (MHS) teacher Pat Cairns’ Botswana School Project over the past four years.
This year, PDMSS students raised enough money to purchase three cameras for their sister schools in Botswana. MHS students and families have donated hundreds of coats for the cause.
Cairns and PDMSS Library Coordinator and Student Council Staff Advisor Dee Dee Cooper will be traveling to Botswana to deliver the coats next month.
