Roads need care

When Malibu became a city, it took responsibility for Latigo Canyon Road from PCH to the unincorporated County Line. However, since that time, with the exception of a slide area repair, maintenance has basically been deferred to filling chuck holes with shovel-fulls of cold patch asphalt.

Traveling Latigo Canyon on a daily basis, we have observed the road deteriorate at a faster and faster rate. Isn’t it time to repair these roads? Won’t it become more expensive the longer the city waits?

Latigo is an escape route to the 101 freeway in case of emergencies and is heavily utilized by both motorcycles and bicyclists. The cracked and pot-holed road is dangerous.
