The City of Malibu will host a third meeting to discuss the Point Dume Traffic Management Plan on Thursday, June 16, at Point Dume Marine Science School at 6:30 p.m.
The Traffic Management Plan is currently being developed with the goal of analyzing existing conditions in the Point Dume neighborhood, and developing recommendations to reduce vehicle speeds and improve safety for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.Â
Thursday’s meeting will offer an update on recent traffic improvements in the Point Dume area, including speed humps, speed feedback signs, speed limit reductions, edge line striping and crosswalk striping. Removal of private encroachments with the public right-of-way will also be discussed.
The city is still accepting community input when identifying and determining the plan’s traffic safety improvements. Input received during the first two community meetings in November 2015 and February 2016 has also been incorporated into the Traffic Management Plan, according to a statement from the City of Malibu. Written comments may be submitted by email to Rob DuBoux at rduboux@malibucity.org.
