The Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education is accepting applications for positions on its district advisory committees (DACs), according to a release from the District.
Interested candidates may have the opportunity to serve on one of the following committees: Early Child Care and Development, Intercultural Equity and Excellence, Health and Safety, Visual and Performing Arts, and Special Education.
Advisory committees help bridge the gap between citizens and educators, facilitating better communication within the school-community environment.
“Committees are advisory in nature only; that is, they inquire, inform, suggest and recommend,” according to the District.
Committee terms range between one-to-four years, and appointments to fill vacancies during the summer months are currently being scheduled.
