P.S. Arts announced the establishment of the Harmony Project Regional Youth Orchestra, which was made possible by donations from the Herb Alpert Foundation. The funds donated by the Malibu resident’s foundation help support “Take PART,” an arts program for the Lawndale, Lennox and Wiseburn School Districts of Los Angeles County. The foundation has donated more than $1.7 million in support of the arts in public schools.
“Herb and Lani Alpert want all young people to have opportunities to reach their full potential,” said Rona Sebastian, president of the Herb Alpert Foundation. “Music education is one way to provide those opportunities, and it’s a priority in all three districts.”
