Since 1983, the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains has been offering environmental education programs at Malibu Lagoon. Each year RCD environmental educators help connect thousands of students to this essential wetland and inspire them to appreciate and care for our land and water. In the years since Malibu Lagoon’s groundbreaking restoration, the RCD has been working to develop an innovative community-based science program in which students will receive firsthand experience in collecting and reporting water quality data to inform local environmental agencies. If you love working with kids and want to become a part of creating inventive solutions to current environmental issues join the RCD team and inspire the next generation of environmental leaders and scientists!
