[Update: 12:21 p.m.]: A spokesperson from the sheriff’s department said Kanan Dume Road—in both directions—is expected to reopen around midnight March 7.
“We have not been provided any further information,” she added.
A traffic accident involving a truck has forced a full closure on Kanan Dume Road, from Pacific Coast Highway to Mulholland Highway, according to a spokesperson for the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff’s Station.
The call came in at 9:43 a.m. Though earlier reports claimed that the truck went over the side of the road, the spokesperson clarified that the truck is on the side of the road. The truck hit a power pole, bringing “hot wires” on the road, according to an alert from the City of Malibu.
The driver has been transported to a hospital, and was breathing on departure.
Los Angeles County Fire Department and sheriff’s departments are on the scene; Southern California Edison is currently respond to the situation as well.
California Highway Patrol is currently directing traffic.
This will be updated when an estimate for the road reopening becomes available.
