The Malibu Lumber Yard introduced its new KidX Club for Malibu’s youngest residents. According to its website, the club is designed to bring kids together with free activities to encourage them to explore.

“With KidX, ‘X’ marks the spot for members to have fun, playful and educational experiences,” the club description reads.

The club may hold events such as safety fairs as well as fitness and art activities for kids and their families. The organization that runs KidX Club has clubs around the country in 23 states.

KidX Club will hold a monthly event, with a new theme each month, for its members.

Membership is free. To register, visit themalibulumberyard.com/kidx/register. Those who sign up will receive information about the club, a free drawstring backpack, membership card, calendar and more, according to the registration page.

The Lumber Yard also hosts Family Film Fridays for kids and their families through August 3. The lineup, starting this Friday, July 20, includes “Peter Pan,” “Back to the Future” and “Peter Rabbit.”

The films start at 8:15 p.m. Food will be available for purchase from Malibu Yogurt. Attendees are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets.
