Computers will rise, computers will crash,
Not even the experts can guess what will smash.
The world will be panicked and fear will arise —
When all the computers at year 2000 will fry!
Be not dismayed or think all will end,
Civilization will continue with a simpler blend;
For if the computers give up with a gasp,
It just goes to prove that progress won’t last!
It’s back to the basics, with files and such things,
It’s surprising what the simple can actually bring.
So cheer up, my friends, all is not lost,
Consider the gain — and forget about cost!
