Letter: Loves Malibu Lagoon as is

A couple of times a week I have the privilege of jogging through and around the beautiful Malibu Lagoon. We have a gem of a tranquil sanctuary, complete with well planned and constructed wooden bridges and Robinson Crusoe foot paths networking around the lagoon. We have already spent hard earned taxpaying dollars for the Malibu Lagoon as it is today. Why spend many more dollars the State of California desperately needs for much more vital programs. California is out of money. This is unnecessary. Stop now the ridiculous plans to bulldoze the lagoon, displace all the birds and wildlife, destroy all the bridges and also bottleneck traffic along PCH. State of California bureaucracy, leave us alone and take your shovels elsewhere. As the Beatles said so well, “Let It Be.”
