The JV Sharks baseball team split its first two conference games with a win and a loss recently against Grace Brethren.
The Sharks struggled in the first game with too many errors and two few hits to fall 18-0 to the Lancers. But two days later, the Sharks rebounded to beat Grace Brethren 10-5. Freshman Andre Simoneau pitched for six innings and allowed just three runs. He scattered five hits and two walks, while striking out five. Sophomore Nick Anthony balanced a solid game at shortstop with a successful day at the plate. Not only was Anthony on base all five at-bats, he registered a triple and three singles to drive in four runs. Sophomore Chris Falk drove in three runs on the strength of a double and a single, while sophomore Sam Yang hit two doubles and drove in two. Sophomore Miles Tade pitched a solid seventh inning, helping lead the Sharks to a decisive win.
