Ashtin Leigh Brandon graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Saturday, May 13. She was formally pinned, a nursing tradition, in Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral by Honore Kotler, ACNP. She earned Dean’s List honors every semester and has been designated a Distinguished Military Graduate.
Ashtin is a fourth generation Malibu native. Her grandparents, Judy and Bill Miller (deceased), have been residents since 1963. Both her parents, Barron Miller and Polly Justice, were also raised in Malibu. She attended Webster, Malibu Middle and Malibu High School (Class of 2011). She has accepted a nursing position at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City on the Pediatric Surgical Unit and will also commission from the University of Utah Army ROTC Battalion as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army’s Nurse Corps this fall.
Ashtin married her college sweetheart, Mitchell Brandon, in August of 2014 who also graduated with a BS in Cognitive Science in the same commencement ceremony and has accepted a position with the Union Pacific Railroad. They currently reside in Bountiful, Utah, and are expecting their first child May 25, 2017.
