Clinton Winthrop Root III

Clinton Winthrop Root III died of cancer on March 24 at UCLA Hospital in Santa Monica. He was 65 years old.

A longtime resident of Malibu, Root worked at major movie studios for the past 30 years. A member of IATSE Locals 835, 615, 720, 038 and 707 and a graduate of UCLA Film School in Westwood, Root was working on a TV series that he was hoping to see produced. 

Root was a graduate of Taft High School, and some of old schoolmates still live in Malibu. 

A remembrance of his life will take place on May 15 at Malibu Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Malibu Homeless Ministry, care of Malibu Presbyterian Church.
