Woman dies of gunshot wound, apparently self-inflicted


A 35-year-old woman died after an apparent self inflicted gunshot to the head Saturday night, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting occurred on the 2000 block of Corral Canyon at around 10:00 p.m., said Deputy Jeff Gordon of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.

The woman, who has not been identified, was driven to Pepperdine University and then airlifted to a local hospital. She was pronounced dead a short while after. Homicide detectives are investigating circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
