Residents sign in last week at a meeting at City Hall to discuss safety issues on Pacific Coast Highway. The meeting, the first of four, was a chance for residents to tell city officials what areas of the dangerous highway are most problematic as the city conducts a $375,000 safety study.

The City of Malibu will host two public meetings, one on Tues., Aug. 20 and the other on Aug. 22, as part of a Pacific Coast Highway Safety Study, according to a press release issued by the City of Malibu.

The PCH Safety Study is being used to “examine current road conditions, determine accident patterns, assess traffic conflicts and develop strategies to improve safety,” according the City of Malibu, which is conducting the study in collaboration with the Southern California Association of Governments.

Both meetings will review the draft of the Alternatives Analysis Report. The city will be able to prioritize recommended solutions for all modes of travel with the help of the input from the public. The full report is available here

Both meetings are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. and will have the same content, so residents can attend either meeting. If Malibu residents cannot make either meeting, the public is encouraged to provide feedback on an interactive website to coincide with the public meetings on Aug. 20 and Aug. 22.
