Weeks after the Woolsey Fire ravaged through parts of Ventura and Los Angeles counties, two victims of the fire have been identified. The victims are 57-year-old Anthony Noubar Baklayan and 82-year-old Shoushan Baklayan, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.

Anthony was an Oak Park resident, while Shoushan was a Malibu resident, per coroner’s spokesperson Sarah Ardalani.

The mother and son were discovered by LA County Sheriff’s Department officials on Friday, Nov. 9—a day after the fire broke out. The bodies were found with severe burns inside of a vehicle on a long, narrow driveway in the 33100 block of Mulholland Highway.

They were pronounced dead on the scene at 4:33 p.m.

The case detail attributes Anthony’s cause of death to “effects of thermal injuries.” The cause of death for his mother has been deferred pending further investigation.

The third body found in the Woolsey Fire burn area has not yet been identified, according to Ardalani. The remains were found in the 32000 block of Lobo Canyon Road in Agoura Hills.
