The nine-mile section of Pacific Coast Highway in both directions between Yerba Buena Road and Las Posas Road has been closed since Tuesday evening. The highway will open when deemed safe for motorists, according to Caltrans.
Crews closed the highway at 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 28 when it was
determined that a possible rockslide near Point Mugu Rock posed a safety hazard to the public.
Once the weather improves workers will continue to remove loose debris from the hillside.
The closure began Dec. 18 when rocks began to fall onto the highway due to heavy rains.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and consider alternate routes around
this area.
