Academy Award-winning local Louis Gossett Jr. will direct the Malibu Stage Company’s upcoming production of “Blood Knot.” The play, written by Athol Fugard, tells the story of two brothers, Zachariah and Morris, living in South Africa during apartheid. The local production stars Oscar Best and A Martinez. It will also feature introductions by Gossett, who played Zachariah in the New York production of the play.
Gossett won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for “An Officer and a Gentleman” in 1982. He also won an Emmy for “Roots” and a Golden Globe for “The Josephine Baker Story.”
