Malibu local Rachel DeAngelis won three awards at the Miss West Coast Pageant, which took place in Santa Monica at the Morgan-Wixson Theater. Over 400 attendees watched as 90 girls completed for the title of Miss West Coast — one of the largest pageants in Southern California. Nine titles and 18 awards were handed out. DeAngelis took home the Community Service Award and Best Evening Gown walk, and was crowned the first Jr. Miss West Coast.
Jessica Duhay was crowned Miss West Coast Teen USA, and Amanda Larssen-Daily was crowned Miss West Coast USA.
Tara Rice, who was over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry and has put on more than 15 pageants, directed the pageant with co-director Amanda Lee Wasvery. Judges included photographer Maurice Rinaldi, agent Sabrina Chu-Kurd and more.
