Matt West (setter) of the Pepperdine men’s volleyball team was recognized as the MPSF Player of the Week on Monday after the Waves went 3-0 against Long Beach State and Cal State Northridge.
For West, this is the second time the league has rewarded MPSF Player of the Week honors to the Waves junior setter.
With the back-to-back shutouts last week and winning five in a row, Pepperdine is now second place in the MPSF standings. In the match against Long Beach State, West had 11 digs and also earned his sixth assist-digs double-double of the season.
West received this award after fellow teammate Matt Tarantino earned his first MPSF Player of the Week award.
Pepperdine (14-5) travels to Palo Alto, California to take on Stanford Friday.
