Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD) Station 70 has temporarily closed for fumigation, but is still fully functioning, according to reports by a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Although Station 70 is closed, unit 70 will remain active in the area.
“They are operating out of a different location, but they are still local,” Inspector David Dantic with the LACoFD reported.
Despite the station being tented and fumigated, fire unit 70 is still providing service to Malibu residents.
“We still have to run our station,” Dantic said. “We have to perform our daily duties.”
While limited information is available, Captain Cunningham from Fire Station 88 reported that Station 70 would open again shortly.
“They just got tented and will be back in the station Saturday,” Cunningham said.
Fire Station 70’s battalion chief was unavailable for comment.
