We would like to thank the citizens of Malibu and Santa Monica and the Malibu and Santa Monica City Councils for wholeheartedly supporting our public schools. First, the passage of Measure S was a great success for our school district and our two communities. The volunteer spirit was alive and kicking in the countless parents and community members that helped with the Measure S campaign. Our Malibu volunteers got out the vote and helped ensure that our kids would continue to get a great education in our local schools. We are deeply appreciative of all their efforts.
The Malibu City Council also came through for our schools when we needed them. They have dedicated $380,000 that will enable us to keep our elementary librarians and physical education programs for the next school year. In addition, we have a new shared-use agreement that allows more community use of our school facilities. We thank them for their generosity and foresight. Great communities make great public schools and great public schools make great communities. Thank you, Malibu, for supporting our schools.
